GHANA CAN WIN CORRUPTION FIGHT THROUGH DETERMINATION - Educate Ghana Summit Boss.

GHANA CAN WIN CORRUPTION FIGHT THROUGH DETERMINATION - Educate Ghana Summit Boss.

Mr. Boadi William a renowned Educationist, motivational speaker and CEO of Educate Ghana Summit opined that "corruption is a misconduct that derails progress"

It is non agitated that, development, both economically and politically do not only thrive on technocrats but also on efficiency of resources a country or an individual has.

Corruption: In 2016, World Bank President, Mr. Kim, organised an Anti Corruption Summit in UK which was geared towards mitigating the pernicious effects of corruption specifically in developing countries.

Barrister Godfred Adjabeng Mensah, Legal Practitioner for Educate Ghana Summit has further reiterated that the only way we can develop our country is when corrupt acts are nipped in a bud and no longer a part of our new developments.

In an attempt to end corruption, countries like China, Thailand, Iran,Laos and others have enacted entrenched laws which holds severe punishments to individuals who engage themselves in corrupt acts. Which means, if found culpable, one shall be sentenced to death or may be held accountable for the action, and if possible, lose all assets to the state while serving in jail.

Even in America, they have milder forms of punishment to addressing issues of corruption.

The questions now are:
Ghana has adopted a lot of western political practices, why not make such strict rules to fight corruption?

Mr. President, Ghanaians are disappointed in you because they voted massively for you based on your measures announced during the campaign to reduce and eliminate corruption in order to pave way for development.  We are now seemingly at a river bank, not knowing how and when to cross to the other side of the river. What is the function of the Special Prosecutor in the country?

Sadly, some institutions are seen virtually not working at all but the CEOs, Directors and many more carry home huge sums of money as salaries and allowances. Parochial interest and Ghanaian leaders are in bed.
Ghana has encountered many corruption cases in recent times which some of these include but not limited to; the Anas -Nyantekyi Expose, $130 BOST scandal, SSNIT software project, National Sports Authority  GHC1m scandal, and Ghana maritime Authority scandal, yet we are still clamouring about fighting corruption. "Robbing Peter to pay Paul" nobody requested for the raw footage of Mr. Kwasi Nyantakyi but after the Galamsey exposé, we are requesting for the raw footage. We should remember that, "adversity is first path to truth"

Indeed, corruption is evil because in this 21st century, most schools lack infrastructure and school children are sitting on bare floor during lessons in Ghana. Road contractors do shoddy works when assigned contracts and this could be a major cause of road accidents. Also,  brown envelopes are sometimes given to those in charge of the deal. People pay money to swerve the law. Kill corruption now!

*Recommendation*
Instead of government using verbal approach, let's rather enact punitive measures to deal with people who breach or involve themselves in corruption just like in developed countries and to detect, investigate, apprehend, convict and ultimately sentence culprits.

Public and private institutions must be strengthened. That is to say, instead of government wasting tax payers money unnecessarily, she should  rather make sure institutions in the country are working and are always supervised vigorously.

There must also be vigorous and timely scrutinizing of private and government institutions in the country.

With the above suggestions, our Leaders will be able to fight corruption when they heed to these punitive measures.
We hope it gets to the President and all political leaders.

I am a citizen, not a spectator.
