VIGILANTISM A SIGN OF IMMATURITY IN GHANA'S DEMOCRACY - Educate Ghana Summit Boss.

🇬🇭 PRESS RELEASE
10-10-2018.

John Mensah Kabia, programs officer, Fund for Global Human Rights -West Africa, stated; "most vigilante groups have been implicated in massive human right abuses across the continent".
Culture Assimilation does not guarantee Ghana to adopt the bad side of people's culture.

Mr. Boadi William, (CEO) Educate Ghana Summit  emphasised on many African countries who practice vigilantism and he said those countries are politically immature.
Though, Ghana is mature in politics than Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Liberia and others but let's do some analysis here;
What is the current state of democracy in this country?

Ghana boasts off with rule of law which was propounded by A.V Dicey,  and one feature of it is Certainty Of The Law.....

Which part, in Ghana's Constitution guarantees the formation of vigilante groups like the Hawks, Aluta boys, Bolgatanga bull dogs, Delta force, Invisible forces etc?

Mr. Joseph Yamin  on 03/09/2018 conveyed 'The Hawks', a vigilante group in NDC to a polling Station to declare results.
Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia also recently  endorsed the establishment of this "illegal job".
The NPP has also endorsed Delta and Invisible forces who are 'misbehaving' in the country while these political leaders sit and watch because they are in power.

This is a clear exhibition of ignorance and immaturity in democracy.
Let's go to China "our aiders", U.S, Germany and other advanced countries and ask if they allow for the establishment of this unprofitable occupations.

About 95% of these vigilante participants are jobless, some homeless and they think vigilantism is the best way to overcome poverty at the expense of finding better jobs like agribusiness and many others.

What then is the need for Police and Military in our country?
These vigilantism acts must be halted immediately else Ghana will end up like Liberia and other chaotic countries.
Ghana is not for any political party and our integrity as a country goes beyond that.

In summary, vigilantism today is a useless idea unlike the 1996 where foot soldiers referred to as 'vibrant youth' were rather aiding government  in achieving aims but not taking the laws into their own hands.
Ghanaians must wake up because these politicians are fooling us.
Let us all be Citizens but not Spectators!
