Give clarification for conviction of 14 teachers - EGS to NTC

"The council will not give in to pressures from certain quarters to cancel the entire examinations because of the turn of events. Some people (Teacher Trainees) were found... their mobile phones and we suspect were questions so we handed them over to the police".... Dr. Evelyn Oduro Executive Director for NTC.

Examination questions leakage have been an issue carried on lighter basis with  blames always shifted to the examinee from BECE through WASSCE to University examinations.

One would not be far from right to be tempted to ask that, do students/candidates or their representatives part take in setting examination questions or even know where the papers are kept?

In as mulch as we are against examination malpractices which is a criminal act, Educate Ghana Summit is unhappy about how examinees are always treated whenever examination questions leak.

The question still remains, how were the teacher trainees able to get the licensure examination questions onto their phones?

The undoubted truth is that there is/are some individuals within the examination body who are aiding and abetting in the malpractices.

As the old adage goes, 'a snake is best killed by the head but not the tail', so we are calling on NTC and other examining bodies to sit up and undergo proper checks to bring the perpetrators to book. This, we think, will bring a lasting solution to the canker.

This Teacher  licensure examination is the first of its kind and we expect some challenges but not the under listed;

1. Examination questions leakage.

2. Too much delay in the exams time which ended up frustrating the candidates. The exams started as late as 4pm at some centres whilst others started at 2pm.

Another problem we have has to do with the quick response from Mr. Francis Kwesi, the coordinator for the License exams. He earlier denied the leakage but what  are we now hearing?

 Educate Ghana Summit is hereby, advocating that the 14 candidates (teacher trainees) should be released and NTC must as matter of urgency delve into finding the potential source of the leakage for the true culprits to be apprehended and dealt with.
