OPEN DAY MESSAGE TO TEACHERS AND GOVERNMENT - Mr. Boadi William of Educate Ghana Summit.

Dear Teachers,

I just want to take some time to express my heartfelt appreciation to all teachers especially in Ghana. I cannot keep sailing in life without being grateful to teachers, then and now. For there is an adage that says, "it is ingratitude for the fowl to make inputs of its feathers".

Teachers truly always standout because of their sheer dedication to pupils especially, right from kindergarten to Junior High School level.

"All professionals can boast but the teacher taught them all". Basic schools teachers are even hardworking than professors. Teaching at the basic level is demanding and hectic than any other level of education. Teachers always make extra sure that pupils understood everything from scratch. But their condition of service is very poor and every political party  and for that matter, politicians take advantage to give hopeless promises just to canvass for votes for their political gains  before, during and after elections.

Government must pay teachers fat salaries plus allowances, because, without teachers, there wouldn't be a successful implementation of any educational policy. Again, government must pay teachers arrears and provide teaching and learning materials to make teaching easier, realistic and holistically oriented.

A boastful Professor today was taught by a classroom teacher, back in the days with poor condition of service, scanty salary, without proper teaching and learning materials. Let us not forget that, teachers do their best to the extent of giving monies to some hungry pupils during break time. Some have to buy motor bikes to facilitate movement to work and others walk a long distance in order to reach their place of work. What have teachers done wrong to warrant some people raining insults on them?
Candidly, they deserve better than insults and the humiliations. Teachers are really selfless.

My dear teachers, keep the good work! Your pupils are still counting on you for extra help and clarification in the classrooms. Though, the Government is not motivating you and also not appreciating your good efforts but rather making your condition of service less prestigious but endeavour to continually make your pupils special and care for them and ensure their happiness and success in totality. God bless all teachers.

I will never forget or even downgrade the relentless efforts of teachers especially those who taught me. The fun activities they included in their lessons to enhance and boost the level of understanding of their pupils to achieving learning outcomes. I strongly love how they always relate the lessons to real life situations that would probe the materials to make more logical sense to pupils and always give us something to relate the lessons to. It made it so much easier to recall the materials whenever tests are administered on it or when we needed it for homework.

Thank you for a great impact and for always going the extra mile as teachers. I appreciate it more beyond imagination.

Sincerely,

Mr. Boadi William CEO,
The Educationist/Motivational Speaker.
