🇬🇠PRESS RELEASE
The CEO of Educate Ghana Summit, Mr. Boadi William extends a wake up call to H.E President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo as he claimed to be corruption fighter.
First of all, I would want to vehemently remind you of the essence of 'Right to Information Bill'. It is a fundamental human right guaranteed by the country's 1992 Constitution and recognized as a right under International Conventions on Human rights.
Mr President, in 2016, you led the NPP Party during campaign and begged Ghanaians to give you presidential mandate to govern the country. The fight against corruption was one of the convinceable messages you campaigned on. On that note, you promised to create an office for special prosecution to combat corruption.
Mr. President, Parliament has begun the consideration of the Right to Information (RTI) Bill and it has been before the house since 2013.
Least, I forget, you gave an assurance during Africa Open Data Conference in Accra that your government will ensure the passage of the Right to Information Bill (RTI) by Parliament. Also, you emphasized that, the passage of the Bill into law would encourage citizens to hold government accountable and ensure greater transparency in governance. So, what is your government and the numerous Parliamentarians waiting for?
Educate Ghana Summit is hereby holding you and your government by your speech to humbly wake up and be a man of your words.
