Promote and Register all Repeated JHS 3 Pupils for BECE 2019 – GES
The Ghana Education Service has ordered headmasters of the various Basic Schools to as a matter of urgency, promote all unqualified pupils into JHS 3 and get them registered for the 2019 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
In a statement issued by the Bolgatanga Municipal Director of Education to all Headmasters and Circuit Supervisors ,and Copied to all Unit Managers in the Municipality,dated ,November 5,2018,the headmasters were being informed that all Students in the Municipality who have been asked to repeat JHS 2 should be moved to the JHS 3 with immediate effect.

According to the statement,arrangements should be made to have them registerd for the 2019 Basic Education Certificate Examination.
Purpose of Promotion
Explaining the purpose of promoting the supposed unqualified Students,the statement indicated that,the enrollment of the 2017/18 Academic Year Students had been captured by the Municipal Education EMIS Unit and the Ghana Education Service for the 2019 Basic Education Certificate Examination.
Meanwhile,headteachers who might have special problems were informed to contact the Municipal Director.

Teachers’ Concerns
Speaking to EducationGhana.net on the issue,some teachers weer of the view promoting supposed unqualified students could affect the overall performance of the Municipality in the 2019 BECE and also have a negative effect on the Senior High Schools since they shall be promoted even if they should supposedly ‘fail’ their BECE.
