WE NEED CLARIFICATION FROM WAEC NOW. - Mr. Boadi William CEO of EDUCATE GHANA SUMMIT.

🇬🇭 PRESS RELEASE

WE NEED CLARIFICATION FROM  W.A.E.C Educate Ghana Summit.
================================================
The West African Examination Council (W.A.E.C) from the 3rd day in the month of April, 2018 to 15th May, 2018, conducted it's yearly examinations popularly known as West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (W.A.S.S.C.E) in Senior High schools all over Ghana of which 316,999 candidates from 946 schools part took. This shows 9.6% increments as compared to 2017.

In no time as candidates were awaiting results, the news came up that a total of 26,434 candidates have their results withheld due to examination malpractice in different folds.

With this, Educate Ghana Summit seeks clarification on the following;

1⃣ Where were the external invigilators before these malpractice took place at the said WAEC centers?.

2⃣ Were these students  searched thoroughly before entering the examination halls?.

3⃣ On what basics do W.A.E.C questions escalate to the public before written?.

"Our view is that, if yes, how were students still able to cheat in the examination hall?". Instead of charging these 26,434 candidates for malpractice, W.A.E.C. should review it's method of conducting examination.

Besides, it must be noted that a snake is killed by the head and not the tail.

Therefore, cooperate bodies like the Ministry of Education(MOE) Ghana Education Service(GES) and Ghana Police Service(GPS) must come together to restructure their way of delivering questions including appointing external invigilators and supervisors with satisfied motivation offered them.

Lastly, workshops must be organised for the selected invigilators and supervisors.
We are hereby  emphasising that charging these struggling and innocent candidates is not the solution.
Thank you.
